Home at last!

Hi everyone,

After an enjoyable reunion with our Sydney based family at Wootton and delaying our final 250km leg back to our starting point as long as we could, we set off this morning in a brisk 4c headed for home arriving home at around 2 pm. We have been on the road for 90 days and, believe it or not, travelled exactly 20,030 Kilometres.  Over the 90 days we were away we had just six wet days which was unbelievable. All in all, we had a fantastic trip and have started planning our next trip up through the red centre next year. To all of you who have followed our Blog we greatly appreciate your interest and giving us the opportunity to share some of the highlights of our trip with you. We plan to keep our Blog open to use for future trips.

Thanks
Dick and Ros

After spending a few great days with our Coffs Harbour family  we continued our journey south under blue skies and with pleasant riding conditions. We decided to take our time and meander down the coast calling in to some of the coastal villages we usually only see via their turnoff signs as we go flying past. We called in on such places as Valla Beach, Nambucca Heads, Grassy Head, Scotts Head, Stewarts Point, Harrington and Crowdy Heady. We also sampled the recently completed  Kempsey bypass which reputedly includes the longest road bridge in Australia. It is amazing that most of these places would hold their own with any of the beautiful beaches and coast line we saw all over Australia. What is it they say about being blase about places in your own back yard.
We finally arrived at our Wootton house just north of Buladelah where we plan to spend the next few days dealing with about 1 acre of lawn in our house yard that has not seen or heard a mower for the past three months. We will be joined on the weekend by our Sydney family for a welcome reunion before completing the final 250 km link back to our starting point at Castle Hill on Monday. It is hard to believe we are almost home after such a wonderful and exciting trip. We are already planning our next tour.

Bye for now
Ros and Dick
